AU1 server being replaced

Thursday, October 24th, 2013

The AU1 server met similar faith to the DE3 server earlier this month – i.e. the main hard drive in the AU1 server is basically dead and the whole server will be replaced Tomorrow by the datacenter technicians. I apologize for the complications this might have caused you, we will setup the new server as soon as possible.

Update: We have been able to replace and setup the new server Today, sooner than expected. The new server is a very powerful one with 8GB of RAM and a Quad Core Xeon CPU.

DE3 server being rebuilt

Tuesday, October 15th, 2013

The DE3 server is currently offline due a hard drive failure. The HDD will be replaced and system rebuilt. We expect the server to be online again sometime Tomorrow.

UPDATE: Today, October 22, the DE3 server has been replaced by a completely new server, the name remains the same. Once again I apologize for the delays, there was nothing we could have done to speed up the server replacement process.

False positive virus detection in Avast antivirus

Saturday, September 7th, 2013

We have been informed that the recent version of the Avast antivirus flags one of the files included in Identity Cloaker version 2 (possibly also in Identity Cloaker Portable, has not been confirmed yet) as infected with a virus. We will be contacting Avast on Monday and will submit Identity Cloaker for whitelisting.

While I do not know how fast their whitelisting process is, I am sure it will not take more than a week to get the issue resolved. I apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact our customer support if you cannot use your Identity Cloaker application due to this problem.

UPDATE on 10th September: The issue seems to be resolved, new versions of Avast antivirus no longer have the false positive detection. If you get the problem still, please make sure you have the latest virus database installed. If the problem persists, contact our customer support for further assistance.

RU1 server problems

Tuesday, July 23rd, 2013

The Russia, Moscow based RU1 server is currently offline. We have asked the RU1 server webhosting company for an explanation but so far they have not given any. We will post an update once we know more. I apologize for the inconvenience.

UPDATE: As for Today, 16th August 2013, the RU1 server is back online. However, since the RU1 server hosting company below average technical support during the outage, we are considering changing over to a different webhosting company. Anyway, for the time being the RU1 server is online.

New Identity Cloaker versions for Windows available

Monday, May 6th, 2013

New version of the Identity Cloaker application for Windows is now available in the member area. The new version is not actually an update to old versions of Identity Cloaker (version 1.x) but rather a completely new made-from-scratch version with just a similar look.

If you are still using Identity Cloaker version 1.x, I strongly suggest you install the new Identity Cloaker version 2. However, this is not necessary so if you are happy with the old version you can keep using it still.

Identity Cloaker version 2 is no longer “portable”, which means it needs to be installed on the PC. For this reason we now offer also another/alternative version, called “Identity Cloaker Portable”.

Download link for both versions is available in the member area. An email with details on the improvements in both Identity Cloaker 2 and Identity Cloaker Portable compared to Identity Cloaker 1.x will be sent in the next few days.
