German server not available for now

Saturday, September 28th, 2019

As some of our customers have noticed, the DE5 German server has been unavailable for well over a week now. Unfortunately, the datacenter customer support for the DE5 server has not replied to any of our several emails and basically it seems they are gone…

A new server, from another company was already ordered and delivered but with incorrect OS installation and experienced a serious issue during the setup process. Datacenter support for the new server is not exactly the most efficient either so as a result, there is currently no German server available.

I would like to apologize to all of our customers for this situation, it’s extremely frustrating for us too. We expect the issue to be resolved within the next few days.

UPDATE, 3rd October 2019: New server in Germany is available, finally! Once again I apologize to every of our customers who have been affected by this issue.

10 year anniversary!

Tuesday, September 4th, 2018

Just a quick note Today:

Exactly 10 years ago, on September 4 2008, Identity Cloaker was introduced to public (after 18 months of preparation)! It is hard to believe, but it really has been this long.

I would like to thank all of our customers, but mainly those who have been with us since the beginning.

Again, thank you!

New ES2 server still not online, unfortunately

Thursday, June 28th, 2018

A replacement for the now disconnected Spain located ES1 server is not available yet, unfortunately. There have been several and repeated issues with the delivery of the new ES2 server from our supplier, that we may be forced to find a new webhost for it.

I apologize for the really long delays, there are only a few datacenters in Spain that meet our needs, which makes everything even more complicated for us.

New NL3 server online

Thursday, June 28th, 2018

New Netherlands based server, NL3, is now online and acts as a direct replacement for the old NL2 server, which started experiencing performance and reliability issues. The new server has been tested thoroughly and is performing very well, with excellent connection to all tested locations.

Large scale attack from China

Monday, May 14th, 2018

Dear customers!

Yesterday and mainly Today, our main server experienced a large scale spam and http attack coming from China.

The attack has been stopped but for the time being, access from China to our main server had to be limited. VPN access from China to any of our servers will still work, however.

UPDATE: Just forgot to update this post. Full access from China was restored approximately 2 days after the attack started, as we were able to find the source of it and solve it.

ES1 server offline

Thursday, January 11th, 2018

Our Madrid based ES1 server is currently offline due to business changes at the datacenter. We will be replacing it soon, however, it may take a few days before the replacement is online.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Hotmail delivery issues

Sunday, November 19th, 2017

We have been informed by some of our customers that our emails are marked as spam by Hotmail / Outlook.com. Please do not forget to always check your Hotmail / Outlook.com junk folder and mark our emails as “not spam”.

Also, I personally strongly suggest anyone using Hotmail to switch to another email provider, for example to Gmail.com.

In the over 9 years we have been in business, Hotmail has proved to be the absolutely least reliable email provider we have ever had to deal with, causing us serious financial damage and also damage to our reputation.

The current situation, when our emails are marked as spam, is actually the better one. In the past our emails frequently simply were not delivered at all.

Our email setting is correct and no sound explanation has ever been given by Microsoft regarding the problems, which we believe to be on their side exclusively.

9 years in business!

Dear customers,

Just a quick note. Yesterday, 4th September 2017, it was exactly 9 years since Identity Cloaker was officially launched!

ES1 server problems

Wednesday, August 30th, 2017

Dear customers!

The Spain located ES1 server is currently experiencing technical issues at the datacenter side. The situation is being solved by the datacenter technicians, right now we have only limited information about the incident, however.

PayPal issues

Tuesday, July 25th, 2017

Today, 5 PayPal payments from our long term customers have been put “Under Review” by PayPal’s automated antifraud system.

This is obviously an error on PayPal’s side and we expect it to be resolved quickly.

Unfortunately, PayPal’s support has been recently even more useless then usual so we do not expect any reasonable explanation from them why it happened, except for a typical unrelated canned reply.

If you do not see your recent PayPal payment in your account history, please contact our customer support as soon as possible.

We will give you a temporary subscription in the meanwhile, so that your service delivery is not harmed by PayPal’s continued incompetence.
