Identity Cloaker for Windows app error

There currently seems to be an issue with the Identity Cloaker version 2.x for Windows. When launching the app, there is an error message saying “Invalid key material type”.

We are investigating the problem, most likely caused by incorrect domain certificate installation. No other versions are affected. In the meanwhile, please use the “Portable” version for Windows instead:

UPDATE: This issue has been resolved for the time being.

Portable version issue – resolved

At this time, there seems to be an issue with the Portable version of Identity Cloaker for Windows. We are currently investigating the problem.

UPDATE: The issue has been resolved and the Portable version should be working normally now.

 

PL1 server currently not available

March 1st, 2024

The Poland located PL1 server is currently not available due to a change on our provider side, the legacy hardware was discontinued.

This server will be replaced as soon as possible. I apologize for the delay, this particular location seems to be in very low demand and as such did not have our priority attention.

 

Payment gateway issue

June 13th, 2023

Some of our customers reported a problem with our credit card payment gateway. The problem seems to be on our merchant bank, which seems to block access from some locations due to an error on their side.

We are currently discussing the issue with their support. I apologize for the inconvenience. If you encounter this issue, please contact our customer support, or use the PayPal option instead.

New UK3 server online

May 24th, 2023

Just a quite note, a new UK server located in one of the largest London datacenters has been added to our list.

It is a direct replacement for the aging UK10 server which will be retired in the next few days.

 

CZ1 server hardware failure

April 28th, 2023

The CZ1 server is currently offline due to a serious hardware failure. It will be replaced by a new server in the next 2 days. I apologize for the inconvenience, if possible, please use one of our other servers in the meanwhile.

UPDATE: New server, CZ2, is now fully configured and online.

Server CH1 replaced with new server CH2

January 21st, 2023

The Switzerland located server CH1 is currently being replaced with a new server CH2. Unfortunately, due to unexpected circumstances, the CH2 installation is delayed by several hours.

I apologize for the complications.

 

Server UK19 reinstalled and renamed

January 17th, 2023

The popular London located server UK19 has just been reinstalled with a new version of its operating system, as well as new versions of the VPN software.

It has also been renamed from UK19 to UK2, however, no configuration change on the user side is necessary.

Identity Cloaker is entering its 15th year of service and you can expect many interesting changes in 2023. Several new server locations as well as new website is finally coming, with a completely new back-office system.

 

Identity Cloaker application issues on Windows 10

November 8th, 2022

We have been recently informed about an issue affecting functionality of Identity Cloaker version 2.x, including the latest version 2.4.8 on Windows 10. According to reports, problem seems to be most noticeable in Google Chrome, which is unable to load any webpage.

At this point, we are not sure what is causing it but it seems that Windows 11 installations are not affected. We are already working on a solution.

Temporary solution: Please download Identity Cloaker Portable, it works reliably on Windows 7, Windows 10 and Windows 11.

UPDATE:

We have identified the issue, it was caused by a recent Windows update that was at first available only for Windows 10 but a few days later also Windows 11 received the same update and caused the same issue.

This problem was very difficult to identify and replicate at first as the Windows update was not available in all locations at the same time. Update for the Identity Cloaker application is already being worked on and will be offered as an update in the current version.

I apologize for the problems this have caused and thank all customers for their patience!

UPDATE 2:

New version of Identity Cloaker is available. When you launch your current version of Identity Cloaker 2.x, the updated version will be offered automatically.
